Grace Gladys Steinbock

Grace Gladys Gerard Steinbock died August 27, 2011, at hospice in Loveland with her family in attendance. She was born June 14, 1917, in Carleton, Nebraska to Frank John Gerard and Anna Marie Steyskal Gerard. She spent her childhood from the cradle to graduation with her grandparents. Grace graduated from Ohiowa High School in Nebraska in 1935. After graduation, she married Joe Steinbock of Hayes, Kansas. They lived in Kansas for a year before moving to Brighton, Colorado. They then moved to Byers, Colorado where they started farming. Grace learned about farming and spent a lot of hours on the tractor and always had memories of coyotes following her. They spent 19 years farming in the Waverly area where all four of their boys graduated from school. The next 19 years they lived on their ranch outside Milliken, Colorado where they raised cattle.
Grace worked in Greeley as a bookkeeper for 17 years and retired in 1978. They moved to Laporte, then to Fort Collins where they spent their retired years. Grace is survived by her sons, Carroll Charlotte of Morrill, Nebraska, Lance Mary of Loveland, Colorado, Brent Shirley of Fort Collins, and Sheldon of Fort Collins. She is also survived by sisters, Arlene Zeibig and Ella Mae Hartman; grandchildren, Scott Steinbock, Raelynn Steinbock, Dawn Mike Jacobson, Debra Jim Stefanski, Angela Craig Bendixen, Bryan Trish Steinbock, Jay Shelley Steinbock, Kristie Steinbock, Todd Kate Steinbock, Kevin Steinbock, and Kirk Genevieve Steinbock; 15 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Steinbock in 1998; grandsons, Craig Steinbock, and Michael Steinbock; great-granddaughter, Samantha Steinbock; and 5 brothers. Memorial contributions can be made to Pathways Hospice in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524. Rosary Service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service will be held at 1:30p.m.on Wednesday at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery.
