Gordon William Bauhs of Fort Collins, Colorado went to be with his Lord in Heaven on Saturday, August 26th, 2023.


He was born June 7, 1935 in Faulkton, South Dakota, the son of Florence Fern Montgomery and Michael Adolf Bauhs. He was the youngest of 5 children: Raymond, Derald, Lucille & Maxine. On August 23, 1958 he married Darleen Elsie Baloun. They were married for 53 years and from that union they had 4 daughters.


He is survived by his 4 daughters, Darcy Darleen Foss and spouse Tory, Lisa Anne Ford and 2 children Colby and Casee and spouse Caleb, Michelle Marie Jeffords and spouse Edward and 3 daughters, Jessica, Kia and spouse Landon, Taylor and fiancé Tyler, and Suzette Renae Weis and 2 children, Jarod and Emma. The day before his passing, he became a great-grandfather and was able to see his great-grandson Clayton (Jessica).


Some of his most favorite things to do were attending CSU sporting events, hunting pheasant, fishing, playing bridge and cribbage with friends. He enjoyed singing karaoke and invited many to come sing with him. Gordon also loved traveling with Darleen in their 5th wheel around different states and meeting up with friends. After retiring, they purchased a 2nd home in Arizona. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 40 years, a Moose member for 15 years. His faith was strong in the Catholic Church. He attended mass daily & was an Extraordinary Minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church.


He graduated from Faulkton High School in 1954. Not long after graduating, he joined the U.S. Air Force as an Airman 2nd Class for 4 years. They lived in Rochester, Minnesota where all 4 of his daughters were born. For a short time, he even raised chinchillas. Then he moved his family to Colorado where he went to beauty school and purchased a salon in Louisville. Several years later, he worked for Poudre Valley Bank/United Bank/Wells Fargo & ultimately finished his employment at Larimer County Courthouse as a Computer Programmer for 20 years. He lived at Brookdale Senior living from July 2018 through November 2020 and then moved to the Center at Rock Creek until his death.


We would like to thank all of the wonderful caretakers and friends who brought him food, played cards, sang with him, and kept him company. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to cancer research.


A public viewing will be held on Monday, September 11th from 10 am-5 pm at Bohlender Funeral Chapel located at 121 W. Olive Street Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.


A Rosary will be held Monday, September 11th at 7 pm at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.


Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday the 12th, 9:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church located at 300 W. Mountain Ave, Fort Collins, Colorado 80521. Reception immediately following in the basement from 10:30am to 1pm


Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery Fort Collins at 2pm.
