Glenn Herbert Edmonds went to be with Lord on March 7, 2019. He leaves behind his devoted wife and love Connie (52 years); children Glenda Heitz-Timbers, Michael Edmonds, Charlie Edmonds, Kim Murtha and Candacea Steele (Steve). Glenn dearly loved his family and was so proud of his 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 great, great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
He was born June 12, 1932 in Seminole, Oklahoma to James Washington Edmonds and Nellie Virginia Weems. In early childhood, the family moved to the Peabody, Kansas area. Glenn's father died when he was 16, resulting in him taking on a large amount of responsibility for the family. He was a self-educated man and worked at Cessna Aircraft for 28 years retiring as a Senior Design Engineer following his help in development of the Citation X. He is a faithful follower of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and helped in missions work around the world for many years. After retirement, he spent the last decade volunteering at the Habitat for Humanity Store repairing appliances of all kinds. He loved buying and fixing up lawn mowers, snow blowers, weed eaters and giving them away. He had a huge heart of generosity.
Glenn's life was marked by his deep faith, and his openness to being a true friend to anyone around him. Whether you were a neighbor, a co-worker, or just someone Glenn met walking through life, you were now a part of his family. This unique quality made him a friend and mentor to so many people across all walks of life. A true representative of what God's love looks like.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate his life at Timberline Church on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy and support, you can make a donation in Glenn's honor to Habitat for Humanity. Funds will be collected by Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 Olive Street, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
