Glen P. Delehoy

March 7, 1926 — September 26, 2017

Listen to Obituary
Glen P. Delehoy, Jr. was born in LaPorte, Colorado, on March 7, 1926 to Glen Delehoy Sr. and Emma Schelt Delehoy. Glen passed away on September 26, 2017 at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his father Glen Delehoy, Sr., his mother Emma Delehoy, and infant son, Greg Michael Delehoy.

Glen's grandfather homesteaded in Bellvue, Colorado and the family established roots among the foothills of Larimer County. Glen attended Cache la Poudre schools until drafted in the U.S. Army, where he served in World War II as a Staff Sergeant in the 40th and 108th Infantry Regiment. He earned his high school degree while serving his Country. He married Ida Lou Cooley on April 15, 1948. They made their home and raised their children on the same lane where Glen was born. Glen lived his entire 91 years within a quarter of a mile of his birth home in a house built with his own hands.

Glen spent the bulk of his career as a Foreman in the Sheet Metal and Welding Shop in the Colorado State University Facilities department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed camping, and spending time at the family cabin at Red Feather Lake. Most importantly he cherished time with his family.

Glen is survived by his wife, Ida Lou Delehoy; sister, Betty Everett (Lloyd, deceased); brothers, Don (Cathy) Delehoy, and Delbert (Donna) Delehoy; son, Mark (Kathi) Delehoy; daughter, Pam (Shawn) Hoff; grandchildren, Brooke (Jason) Lee, Kurt (Jill) Delehoy, and Katelyn Hoff; and five great grandchildren.
