On Monday, June 29, 2010, Ginger Lee Mohs passed from our sight. She was born in Fort Collins and lived here nearly all of her life. And what a life it was! She went to CSU after high school, and after working in the dispatch office on the CSU campus, decided that her passion was to be a police officer. She was hired by the Fort Collins police department and began a career that left a legacy that will long be remembered. Ginger was one of those rare individuals that lived her life according to her own rules and the people she touched could not help being caught up in her sheer joy. Laughter was the tool she used to woo the world. There are no words that can describe her, but no one that ever met her will ever be able to forget her. She was a force of nature and there will never be anyone like her ever again. She leaves behind her mother, Kerry McKillop of Wellington; her brothers, Chad Mohs and David Rodriguez; two nephews, Tanner and Brayden Mohs; her partner, Julie French and many, many other family and friends. There will be a memorial service held in her honor at the Lory Student Center, West Ballroom at 5:00 p.m. Since people were her passion and she thought flowers were "stupid", donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Ginger Mohs Memorial Fund at any branch of First National Bank.
