Georgina Mae Jordan, 91, of Fort Collins, died March 8, 2010 at Golden Peaks Nursing Home. Georgina was born February 22, 1919 in Lycan, Colorado to Walter and Josephine Harris Powell. Georgina married Virgil Brown on July 17, 1949. Georgina and Virgil had four children; Norman, David, Philip and Janet. Virgil passed away November 21, 1961. She then married Merrill Jordan on October 6, 1979 and enjoyed eight years together before he passed away May 17, 1987. Georgina grew up in Springfield, Colorado area, before moving to Fort Collins in 1962. She worked various jobs in Fort Collins including Food Service at CSU, Sargents Upholstery Shop, So-Fro Fabrics and Alterations at May D& F. Georgina was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Collins and enjoyed singing in the choir, playing the piano, sewing, crocheting and reading. Survivors include her sons, David Bobbie Brown of League City, Texas and Philip Marlene Brown of Fort Collins; daughter, Janet Brown a missionary in Japan for World Venture; stepdaughter, Barbara Hill of Fort Collins; daughter-in-law Norman's wife, Nina Brown of Fort Collins; sister, Ruth Embelton of Ignacio, Colorado; ten grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren Preceding Georgina in death are her husbands, Virgil Brown and Merrill Jordan; son, Norman Brown of Fort Collins; stepson, David Jordan; two brothers and three sisters. A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Fort Collins, on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Dale Williams will officiate the service. A Memorial Service will also be held at a later date in Springfield, Colorado. Memorial contributions can be made to Missions at First Baptist Church for Janet Brown in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Fort Collins, CO 80524.
