Georgia Mae Colter, 77, of Fort Collins, died April 1, 2009 at her residence. Georgia was born May 8, 1931 in Napoleon, Missouri to Daniel William Overhelman and Edna Charlotte Struewe Oberhelman. Georgia moved to Laramie, Wyo. with her husband, Virgil; and son, Chris, where they were involved in Sqaredancing and bowling. She worked as a seamstress, and as a secretary for DeWald Stone Work. In 1964, along with their second son, Kevin, they moved to Ft. Collins. Georgia continued to sew both for personal and commercial accounts as well as working for nine years in real estate. She then spent 25 years with the U.S. Deptartment of Commerce in the Census Bureau as a Field Representative, doing what she enjoyed the most, visiting with people. Georgia felt it was a personal blessing to be a primary caregiver to her sister, friends and especially her mother. Georgia also enjoyed travelling, reading, camping and fishing. Survivors include her two sons, Chris Colter and his wife, Jenny, of Laramie, Wyo., and Kevin Colter of Ft. Collins; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Austin Booth of Ft. Collins; two nephews and a niece. Preceding Georgia in death are her parents; and a sister, Mary Ellen Booth. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30a.m. on Thursday at First United Methodist Church, 1005 Stover. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Rev. Charles Schuster will officiate at the service. Those who desire may view Georgia, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
