George Taylor Rosselle was a husband and a father and lived a full life. On Tuesday, June 19, 2012, George died at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado. He leaves his wife of 48 years, Donna Rae; daughter, Nicole; sons, Shane and Aaron; and in-laws, Eileen and Chanda. Also bereaved are his only sibling, Mary; his 5 grandchildren, Cameron, Conner, Chandler, Miré and Grace; and many friends who loved, respected, and are guided by his example in life. His life experiences, his travels through the world were all formed by a piece of the Fort Collins that existed at his core. Throughout his life this influence gave him a matter-of-fact, show-me, farm boy, carpenter ethic that flavored his thoughts, beliefs and actions. He brought this to all his life roles – steadfast husband, doting father and grandfather, dedicated friend. George imparted a sense of well being and calm to those he touched as if it were his only intent. We are now left to measure others and ourselves against this grounded man. George lives on through the kindness, obstinance, passion for life, respect for animals and nature and the funny-turn-of-phrase that we inherited from him.
His artistry in woodwork is a humble reflection of his deeper impact on all of us who are made more beautiful by his shaping influence. George will be dearly missed. A memorial and celebration of his life will be held at Fort Collins City Park, Shelter #7, July 14, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Please no flowers. Memorial contributions can be made to the San Diego Zoological Society in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Ft. Collins, CO 80524.
