George "Bud" Bateman

George "Bud" Bateman, 91, passed away Jan. 26, 2006, at home. Bud was born and raised in Indiana as were his father and grandfather before him. He graduated from DePauw University where he lettered three years each in baseball, tennis and basketball. He had a long career as a high school math teacher and basketball coach and was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife, Janet and son, Ron and his wife, Marty. He has six grandchildren, Ted and his wife, Felecia, Wendy and her husband, Tim, Michelle and her husband, Dave, Michael, Katie and Christy. He also has seven great-grandchildren, Jenna and Britton Bateman, Camden, Braden and Ashton Holm and Avarie and Joseph Perovich. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Elderhaus Adult Day Care and Hospice of Larimer County.
