Geoffrey Jay Beck

Listen to Obituary
Geoff Beck, 54, of Fort Collins, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015, at Poudre Valley Hospital after a brief illness. Services will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel in Fort Collins at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015.

Geoffrey Jay Beck was born on May 23, 1960 in Brush, Colorado to Doris Annette Gray and Donald Eugene Beck. In 1965 the family relocated to Fort Collins, where Geoff went to school, graduating in 1978. Geoff started off working at Wags in the Foothills Fashion Mall. He then worked for many years at South College Liquor, tending bar at Mulligan's, and finally settled into sales for Beverage Distribution Company.

A few short paragraphs cannot do justice to the character that Geoff possessed. Whether you knew him for five years or five minutes, it is a guarantee he made you laugh. His illness was still not enough to keep him from wiggling his eyebrows at the nurses and pleading for help whenever Scott wanted to try out new jokes on him. While he never achieved greatness in his golf game (losing to his grand-niece), it didn't stop him from trying. Geoff loved music and anyone who knew him will never be able to hear Bob Dylan without thinking of him.

Geoff would readily admit that he was surrounded by wonderful friends and family – loyal, compassionate, and caring. He was much less willing to admit it was these exact qualities that he possessed; and that is what attracted everyone to him. Geoff was cared about by many, but he cared for all.

He is survived by his brother (Neil) and countless nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister (Nancy), and grand-nephew (Brandon).

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask those interested to make a donation to Leukemia Research in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.
