Genevieve Lucille Moedy died peacefully in her sleep on August 2, 2017, at the age of 93. Born April 30, 1924, to Peter L. and Marie (Schwindt) Minch of Fort Collins, she married George Moedy in 1943, thirteen months after he was inducted into the Army and shortly before he left for the Pacific. While he was gone, she worked for the Stampar Parachute Corp. sewing bathing suits. While working there she was selected to model one of the bathing suits, wearing western boots and hat and riding a horse in the Ft. Collins 4th of July parade. Genevieve was one of the first four women hired by Woodward Governor, working there removing burrs from governor components for 26 years. They retired in 1983 to live at Red Feather Lakes where she and George continued to enjoy camping, fishing, snowmobiling, rock hunting, and taking trips in their motor home. Gen was an amazing artist, known for her fine china painting as well as all types of needlecrafts. Genevieve is survived by her sisters, Edna Schaefer and Arlene King (Dwight); son-in-law, Derrel Baker; grandson, Gaylen Baker, and grandchildren, Cole and Rachael Baker all from the Fort Collins area. She is preceded in death by her husband, George; daughter, Sydonia Marie Baker; sister, Gladys Renz; and brother, Virgil L. Minch. Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Grandview Cemetery, Thursday, August 10, 2017.
