Gary Lee Nelson was born on October 23, 1984 at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho to Jeffrey Lee Nelson and Kimberly Ann Nelson. Gary graduated from East High School in Cheyenne Wyoming and then attended Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne Wyoming for two years. On June 1, 2013 Gary married the love of his life Marissa E. Garnica in a ceremony in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Gary was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroendocrine cancer in August of 2014. He fought a very hard battle with this disease until the end. Gary passed away on October 22, 2015 in the presence of friends and family.

Gary is survived by his wife, Marissa; Baby A and Baby B Garnica-Nelson; parents, Jeff and Kim Nelson;, grandparents, Phyllis and Hensel Nelson; grandpa, Butch McGrane; mother in law, Laura Garnica, and God Daughter, Cassandra Murray, and best friend, Eric McCaffery.

Gary's legacy will continue on through his children that are due to be born in May of 2016. Gary fondly called them Thing One and Thing Two.
