Gary Lee Clay

Gary was born on December 13, 1934 in Hartley Iowa and passed away September 18, 2022. He grew up and graduated in Hartley. He was married to Mary Ann Koele on September 18, 1954 and passed away on their 68th wedding anniversary.

Gary and Mary along with their three daughters moved to Colorado in 1959. At first, Gary worked at Ranch Way Elevator. He worked for them 2 years. Then he started his own roofing business which he had for 18 years. After that he worked in plumbing for 5 years before working for Larimer County Building Department for 19 years.

Gary and Mary retired in 1993 and traveled in their RV part time. They visited every state in the US except Hawaii along with Canada and Mexico. They spent 24 years wintering in Arizona.

Gary will be buried beside his loving wife, Mary of 67 years. He has three wonderful daughters, Ronda & John Ogden of College Station, TX, Julie & Carl Brunswig and Jeri & Greg Calkins both of Windsor, CO. 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren. He always welcomed them with a smile, and supported their dreams and aspirations with sound advice. Gary is also survived by 1 brother Keith and his wife Joan and sister-in-law Iva Fylstra.

Gary was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Katherine Ann Ogden, his parents Earl and Evelyn Clay, father and mother in law Jake and Elizabeth Koele, step father-in-law Henry Hulst, sister Barbara Bleeke, two sister-in-laws and three brother-in-laws.

Visitation will be held 4-6pm, Friday, September 23, 2022, Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service, 10am, Timberline Church, South Auditorium, Graveside Service, 1pm, Grandview Cemetery, Saturday, September 24, 2022.
