Freda Joan Williams (Elliott) was born September 11, 1938 in Bakersfield, CA to Ray and Eloise Williams. She was their first daughter, and third child of six. She graduated from Campbell High School in Campbell, CA, and married Michael Elliott that same year. They went on to have a total of 4 children. Our dad was a surveyor who worked for the USGS in Menlo Park, CA, and they moved every six months throughout the Western States – through pregnancies and babies! They landed back in Campbell, in 1969, and bought their first home where they
raised us kids. They moved to CO in 1993, and made it their home. If you knew this very special lady, you knew that she loved her children above all else, and then her grandchildren, and then her great grandchildren… she was born to be a mother and love, and she was really good at that. Somehow, out of 5 great grandchildren, 2 shared her birthday with her, and Mom shared her birthday with her grandmother! She loved to garden, sew, was a gifted writer, she loved travelling, music and just laughing. She was very specific in her thoughts and beliefs about saying goodbye and funerals. She always wore white to a funeral because she believed it was appropriate to celebrate that person's new chapter. She didn't believe in endings, she knew that
heaven was there for her and she would see her mama and family and friends that had gone before her. She had 79 really good years on this earth, and then the last 3 years were really rough… she was diagnosed with COPD and really never caught her breath again. She just plain ran out of steam and she decided to go on Hospice – for one day. When she made a decision, she acted on it. She told us all how much she loved us and then she slipped away to a place where she could sing again, and breath, and dance. She will be missed by her family until the day we leave this earth – she truly made our childhoods magical and loved us all purely and truly.
