Fred Lowery, Jr., 82, of Fort Collins, died Tuesday, February 27 after a prolonged illness. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life Reception on Friday, March 9 from 2pm to 4pm at The Drake Center, 802 West Drake in Fort Collins.
Fred Lowery was born on September 11, 1935 in Bellevue, Colorado to Jake and Helen Lowery. He married Jeanne Brown in Fort Collins on July 6, 1956 and they were happily married for 61 years.
A lifetime Colorado resident, Fred graduated from Cache la Poudre High School in 1953, attended Colorado A&M and worked for Woodward Governor Company for 35 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hike in the mountains. He coached baseball and served as a Boy Scout leader for many years. Fred and Jeanne enjoyed a retirement filled with travel, restoring antiques and collecting early American clocks.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his sons, Kirk and Jack; their wives, Tammy and Laura, and five grandchildren, Mauri, Paige, Kacie, Lexy and Mitchell.
