An avid outdoorsman, he loved his mountains. Bob and Sherrie took many camping trips in the Poudre canyon. Fishing hunting, camping, hiking anything to be in the mountains. Breakfast at sunrise at "The Toilets" was a special treat for the family.
Bob worked for Woodward Governor in Fort Collins CO for 32 years. After retiring, he and Sherrie got to live their dream life. Life on the mountain. They purchased Sportsman's Lodge in the Poudre Canyon. Bob and Sherrie spent 17 years running Sportsman's Lodge. Bob could be heard, often saying just another day in paradise. We often joked that Bob was "The old man of the mountain ".
A few years, after being on the mountain, Bob took a job with CDOT. He loved plowing snow every winter. You could just see the grin on his face as he drove past and waved to family, waiting for him to come home. Bob with his signature, Boonie hat, earned him the nickname of "Elmer" by all the workers at CDOT.
No matter what Bob was doing. He always had a grin on his face and a cup of coffee in his hand. The local neighbors in the Poudre Canyon all knew that there was warm coffee, waiting for them at Sportsman's Lodge.
Bob officially retired from CDOT in November and was planning camping trips and spending time back in the mountains with his beloved wife Sherrie.
Bob will be truly missed by all.
Per his wishes, please no flowers just take care of your family and love them as much as you can. There will not be a service at this time.
