Frank C. Edgar, 80, of Fort Collins peacefully departed this earth to be with God on Saturday, January 7, 2017. Frank was born March 4, 1936 in Rocky Ford, Colorado to Charles and Ethel Edgar. He attended and graduated from Ault High School in 1954 and attended the University of Colorado. In 1955 Frank married his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Alice Douglass and they later became the proud parents of three children. He worked in construction in Colorado prior to joining Woodward Governor Company in 1957. Frank worked for Woodward Governor Company for 40 years, starting as a machinist and finishing his career as plant mechanical manufacturing supervisor when he retired in 1997.
While working for Woodward Governor, Frank's advice and expertise was highly sought after. He helped Woodward Governor establish and upgrade plants in India, China, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He loved working with people and understood how to bring out the best in everyone he had contact with.
Frank was incredibly devoted to his family and was always the one person who you could turn to for advice and a strong shoulder to lean upon. He was a man of honor and integrity. Frank was highly respected and admired, a friend to all, with a passion for helping others. He was loving, caring, kind, generous, sincere, and strong. Frank enjoyed traveling with Alice to Branson Missouri, to their winter home in Apache Junction, Arizona, to their children when they lived in to Puerto Rico, Denmark, New Mexico, and California, and to visit with family across the United States. He enjoyed camping and motorcycle riding; working with his hands rebuilding cars, building furniture, remodeling his home and landscaping. There wasn't anything that he couldn't accomplish. You are blessed if you get to meet someone like Frank once in your lifetime and he is going to be deeply missed by all.
Frank is survived by his son, Steve (Catherine) Edgar; daughters, Carrie (Scott) Severin and Kathy (Kurt) Sommermeyer; brother, Glenn Edgar; sisters, Helen (Gary) Lievre, Peggy (Art) Decker, and Jacquline (Glen) Kaner; three grandsons; three granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Charlene Fisher; and his loving wife.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11a.m. on January 30, 2017 Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
