Francis L. (Jack) Fowler was born on October 4, 1924, in Chappell, Nebraska. His family moved several times, and he grew up in Poudre Park, Fort Collins, and Denver, graduating from North High School. His college years at CU in Boulder were interrupted by WWII and a stint in the U.S. Navy. He spent his 21st birthday in Shanghai. He returned to Colorado after the war and graduated from CU.
Jack met his wife Evelyn in Denver and they were married for 67 years. During that time, he started his career at Public Service Company of Colorado, and became a father to Susan and Terri. The family moved from Denver to Boulder and then to Fort Collins. Jack made friends wherever he went, and loved to entertain at his basement bar. He was proud of his membership in the Kiwanis Club for over 50 years, and these activities were very important to him. He and Evelyn traveled the world on cruises and tours, sharing these trips with close friends.
As his health declined, he moved into assisted living, where he was an inspiration to many people. He always had a positive attitude and was beloved by many.
Jack is survived by his wife Evelyn, daughters Susan (Greg) and Terri (Ruben), 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, as well as his many friends.
