Frances Loraine Watson was born October 5th, 1926 in Amherst, CO to Otto and Elizabeth (Leben) Nierman. She departed this life on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 due to complications from COVID-19.
She attended St. Paul's Lutheran School in Amherst and graduated Valedictorian in 1944 from Holyoke High School. Frances married Darrel (Bill) Watson December 19th, 1948 in Holyoke. The family lived in Sidney, NE then moved to Fort Collins in 1959. Frances volunteered for many years at Poudre Valley Hospital and Columbine East Nursing Home. She attended St. John's Lutheran Church for many years and was currently a member of Peace with Christ Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crocheting and made beautiful afghans for her family. Most recently, jig saw puzzles and watching game shows were her passions.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother, Raymond Nierman, three sisters, Lucille Krueger, Dorothy Meinte and Eileen Turner.
Surviving Frances are her husband of almost 72-years Darrel; children Barb (Dennis) Gardner, Mark (Kristi) Watson, Kim Judith, and Gail (Bill) Cordova. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren (and spouses) and 12 great-grandchildren, brother Wesley (Eunice) Nierman, and sister-in-law Mildred Watson.
Memorial contributions in Frances's name can be made to the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) or the charity of your choice in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive Street, Ft. Collins, CO 80524.
A visitation will be held 5- 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
A graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
