Frances M. Miller, 92, formerly of Fort Collins, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, at her daughter's home in Limon. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Cremation has been conducted. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. Frances Meyer was born Feb. 12, 1915, in Seneca Kan., to Joseph Meyer and Anna Kohake Meyer. She lived her childhood on the family farm outside of Lillis, Kan., where she attended school. She graduated from Kansas State University in 1940, majoring in home economics. During and after her college years, she taught school, five of which were in a one-room school in rural Kansas. She later became a county extension agent for the Farm Security Administration, helping rural farm families survive the effects of the Depression and long-term drought. Frances Miller married Victor Miller on Oct. 15, 1942, in Oklahoma City, Okla., five days before he was sent to serve in North Africa in World War II. Frances and Victor moved to Fort Collins in 1952. She was very involved with her three children through Boy Scouts, 4-H, PTA and many school activities. She was also extensively involved in St. Joseph's Parish as a teacher, church office manager and religious education instructor. She enjoyed life to the fullest, especially when she was with her family and friends. Survivors include one son, James Miller of Cortez; two daughters, Ann Miller of Cortez and Carolyn Miller of Limon; one sister, Mary Meyer of Kansas City, Mo.; and one sister-in-law, Clara Miller of Stella, Mo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Victor Miller; her parents; five sisters; and two brothers.
