"Frances" Elaine Menjares, 87, earned her angel wings on May 2, 2020. Frances was born in Spearfish, SD to Edward and Jessie Smith. She was the sixth child out of eight children.
Elaine met Thomas S. Menjares and got married on September 18, 1950. They were married 25 years.
Elaine worked a number of jobs and loved to travel when she could with two of her daughters or by herself. She loved gospel, country, and the very old time music.
In her younger days she would make homemade bread, donuts, cinnamon rolls, tortillas, and fried chicken. She loved to joke around with her brother, Richard Smith.
Elaine loved her grandkids so much, she helped to raise her daughter Mary's sons, Juan, Nate, and Pablo Ramos.
Elaine is survived by her five children Mary Menjares (Anthony Salazar) of Greeley, Mildred Rodriguez (Roy) Ft. Collins, Patsy Melendrez (Val) Severance, Tom Menjares (Bea) Ft. Collins, and Linda Welker (Gerry) of Henderson, Texas, 16 grandkids, 33 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous extended family.
Preceding Elaine in death was her husband, grandparents, parents, four brothers, three sisters, one child, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Elaine is being cremated by Bohlender Funeral Chapel and laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery with her husband.
