Florence Otzenberger passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 18, 2009. Florence Lorine Schilling was born September 30, 1923 in Fort Collins to Alexander and Eva Schilling. She was a 1942 graduate of Fort Collins High School. She married Kenneth Marvin Otzenberger on December 13, 1941. When asked how they met, he would say he saw an incredibly beautiful girl in a turquoise dress walking down the street and wasn't going to accept "no" as an answer. They celebrated 61 years of marriage. Ken preceded her in death on October 17, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Victor Schilling. Florence lived most of her 86 years in Fort Collins. She was a homemaker, babysitter and the counselor's secretary at Lincoln Junior High. She was a wonderful cook and an even better seamstress. For over 50 years she enjoyed frequently playing pinochle with her good friends. Everyone was always welcome in her home and would be greeted by her warm and inviting smile. She was a lovely woman who greatly enriched the lives of all those around her. Florence always enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and was very proud of each and every member of her family. She is survived by her four children, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Son, Steve and his wife, Maria of Knoxville, Tennesee; granddaughter, Lisa Walker, her husband, Travis and great-grandson, Niko. Son, Rod and his wife, Del of Woodbury, Minnesota; grandson, Bret, his wife, Pam and great-grandsons, Russ and Max; grandson, Dan and his wife, Kirsten. Son, Craig and his wife, Jeannie of Jerome, Idaho;granddaughter, Kimberly Connor, her husband, Kynan and great-granddaughters, Katie, Kretha, and Krynna; grandson, Chris and his wife, Aubrey; grandson, Kevin; and grandson, Will. Daughter, Jane Dingman and her husband, Gene of Eagle, Idaho; granddaughter, Gretchen Hamilton, her husband, Ian; and grandson, Mark Bever. She'll also be fondly remembered and greatly missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at 11:00am at the Drake Center, 802 West Drake Road, Ft. Collins.
