Florence Wanda Griffith, 96, OF Fort Collins, passed away January 9, 2018 at a local nursing facility.
Florence was born on September 18, 1921, one of eight children, born to Stanley and Helen (nee Placgkowski) Zdzieniecki, Florence was a private secretary for Armour Chemical in Chicago, Illinois for 10 years. On March 18, 1960 she married Robert B. Griffith and moved her family back to Fort Collins. Bob, as he was called, died March 13, 1965. Florence has been active at St Joseph Catholic Church since 1965. She volunteered at the school, in the parish service center, at all 25 years of Christmas Tree Lane and later as a Eucharist Minister until her health started to wane.
She is survived by a daughter, Aloha Marie (Emmett) Weiss; and a son, Paul J. (Donna) Griffith; grandchildren, John (Sally) Weiss, David Weiss, Robbie Schoondermark, Lauren and Rachel Griffith; great grandsons, Daniel Weiss and Gavin Schoondermark.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Robert A. Schoondermark; her siblings, Genevieve Janicki, Clara Pienltca, Mary Chrobeck, Eugene Zdziennicki, Martha Iwanski, Sabena Zdziennicki and Charlotte Santori.
A Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at St Joseph Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St Joseph Catholic Church in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
