Florence Garza passed away peacefully on March 2, 2016, she was 96. She was born on August 10, 1919 in Fort Collins to Jesus and Dominga Melendrez. She was married to Manuel C. Garza in 1959 who preceded her in death.
Florence worked as a housekeeper for many years for prominent families in Fort Collins and for Poudre Valley Hospital where she retired from.
She had a passion for cooking, gardening, crocheting, baking for her family, putting together puzzles as well as her trips to Blackhawk. She was the foundation of our five generation family. She was generous, simple, caring, sweet, humble, and had a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Dolores Garcia (Tony E.), Marylou Garcia (Tony L.), five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Valentine Melendrez, many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
We wish to thank Accent Care Hospice, the staff at Poudre Valley Hospital, and Dr. Phillip Rhoades.
A private family service will be held. Please visit bohlenderfuneralchapel.com to send the family online condolences.
