Florence Dunn lived a full life, which came to a peaceful close on April 28, 2008. Florence considered herself a full-blooded Coloradan, but spent her early years in Utah and Idaho and was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard and Gaylord Larson, and sister, Mildred Barkley. While teaching home economics, Florence met the love of her life on a blind date and not long after, married Robert Dunn in 1941. Together they started their family and raised their sons, Jerry and Ken in Fort Collins. After Robert's passing in 1978, Florence continued their many civic and family traditions. Florence was State Regent 1961-63 and 1981-84 for Cache La Poudre Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and was instrumental in beginning the Cache La Poudre Chapter of Children of the American Revolution. She was active in the Fort Collins Symphony Guild, serving as President 1972-74, PEO Chapter G, serving as President in 1968, the Fort Collins Library Council, and her beloved First Presbyterian Church. Florence's family includes her sons, Jerry and Ken; her daughters-in-law, Tina and Heather; her grandchildren, and their spouses Thad and Dakota, Tara and Nathan, Tricia and Steve, Amanda and Andrew, and William; and her great-grandchildren Jason, Mikaela, Samantha, Shannon, Cade and Corbin.
