Florence Ruth Denton, 90, passed away on November 3, 2011 at Columbine West Nursing Home. She had been in hospice care for about two weeks. She was born April 6, 1921 in Fort Collins to William and Fern Seaworth. The family moved to Greeley where Florence graduated from College High School in 1939. She attended business school in Fort Collins and was hired by the First National Bank where she met her first husband Robert P. Gardner. They were married in 1945. Their son, Dennis was born in 1953. Florence left the bank when she married Robert, but returned to work in 1961 after his death. In 1964 she met and married Henry Denton. The couple lived in Fort Collins where Henry ran his own TV business and Florence kept the books. They retired in 1992. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Robert in 1961, and her second husband, Henry, in March of this year. She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Robert Todd, her brother, and his wife, Harlan and Virginia Seaworth, and by an infant brother, Evan. Florence is survived by her son, Dennis Gardner and his wife, Barb, Ronda Cordova Joel and family, and Oliver Comings. Also surviving is her brother, Edgar, his wife Beth, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Florence is also survived by Henry's family, Tollie Prall Jim, Carl Denton Barbara, Nancy Blaylock Bill, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Her family would like to thank the staff at New Mercer Commons, Columbine West Nursing Home, Pathways Hospice and the very special care givers who helped Florence and Henry at home. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Monday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Pathways Hospice in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.
