Evelyn Jane Intermill passed away at Highland Park Care Center in Alliance, Nebraska on October, 9, 2015. She was born June 11, 1919 in Haigler, Nebraska to William Glen Waters and Opal Etta (Ridgeway) Waters. The family moved to Colorado when she was three months old and Jane attended school in Laird, Wray and Eckley. She married Joe Intermill in 1936 and they lived in and near Eckley for the next twenty years.
Jane kept busy as a mother and homemaker, but was always available to assist with school and community events. She was well known as an excellent cook and enjoyed large dinners for family and friends. No one ever left Jane's table hungry! In 1956 the family moved to Limon and then to Fort Collins in 1960. Joe passed away in 1968 and Jane stayed in the Fort Collins, Loveland and Windsor area where she established a successful career in sales. She relocated to Alliance, Nebraska in 2002. She was very proud of her 60-year-membership with the Royal Neighbors of America.
Jane is survived by her sons and their wives, Joe A. Jr. and Shirley Intermill of Ault, Colorado and Larry G. and Cathy Intermill of Alliance, Nebraska. Jane has seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a brother, William Roy Waters.
Known as "Grandma Jane" by generations of friends and admirers who will miss her kind laughter and sharp wit, she will be missed most by her family who loved their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother very much. A special thank you to the staff at Highland Park Care Center for their loving and compassionate care of her.
Per Jane's wishes, there will be a private family service. Memorial contributions may be made to Prairie Haven Hospice, 3701 Ave D, Suite #2204, Scottsbluff, NE 69361.
