EVELYN VERNA ROUT BELLCOUR Evelyn Bellcour was born August 16, 1917 in Alta, Iowa, to Henry and Martha Andersen. Evelyn attended school in Alta and graduated from Alta High School where she enjoyed softball and basketball. She married Melvin C. Hout on October 19. 1935. They moved to a farm near Albert City, Iowa. Evelyn and Melvin had 3 children. She was a book keeper in Storm Lake, Iowa for 27 years. Her husband, Melvin, was killed in a car accident in 1968. She married Zane Bellcour on Dec. 30, 1974. She was a member of Theist Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake, Iowa and Ft Collins, Colorado, and was a volunteer there for over 10 years. Evelyn loved to bowl and did so for 30 years. In 1972 she won the singles and doubles in the Women's National Bowling Tournament in Kansas City. She also loved flowers especially roses; gardening and feeding the birds. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin; her youngest daughter, Carol Keitges; her parents; six sisters and two brothers. She leaves to mourn, her husband, Zane Bellcour; one daughter and son-in-law, Marion and Doyle Long of Roseville, California; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Vicki Hout of Ft Collins, Colorado; one sister-in-law, Helen Andersen of Spencer, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn Bellcour passed away November 4, 2012, at Columbine West Nursing Home. A Funeral Service will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at held at Buena Vista Memorial Park in Storm Lake, Iowa.
