Eugene "Geno" Jess Castellanos, (64) of Fort Collins passed away on Wednesday the 18th of October 2017, at UCHealth PVH in Fort Collins, Colorado. Geno suffered a major stroke which led to his sudden and early passing. Eugene was born on January 6, 1953, to Joe Castellanos, Jr and Nora (Trujillo) Castellanos.

Eugene graduated from Poudre High School and attended University of Colorado in Boulder. Eugene enlisted and served in the US Air Force as a Security Specialist stationed at Holloman AFB, Alamogordo, New Mexico, attached to the 49th Security Police Squadron.

After military service, Eugene worked as a Clerk in Shipping and Receiving at Teledyne Water Pik and later in Shipping with Woodward Governor.

Geno greatly enjoyed participating and watching sports, coaching softball and recently assisting his brother-in-law, Toney in teaching youth boxing, conditioning and self-esteem. He also enjoyed fishing and camping. Geno was a positive, generous, quiet and peaceful man that enjoyed joking and laughing with his family and friends. Eugene was also an organ and tissue donor thus helping and giving to others long past his departing.

Eugene was preceded in death by his father, Joe Castellanos, Jr; his paternal and maternal grandparents, Joe and Aurela Castellanos; and Vitalia and Joe Trujillo; Lee Martinez, and his Aunts and Uncles Joe and Cora Trujillo; John Castellanos, Mary Vigil, Lupe Rodriguez; cousin, Jack Castellanos and his very precious great nephews, Jace and Kyron.

He is survived by his mother, Nora; sisters, Diane, Barbara and husband, Toney Wilson and his niece and nephews, Melissa, Steven, and Toney, Jr. (Abbey). His great nephews include Arik, Gabriel, Jacob, Anthony and Constantine. His special cousin, Samuel Trujillo (Paula) and their children, Amy, Sonya (Nathan), Aaron, and Sam, Jr. (Sharee). Also, their children Lexi, Kianna, Ahsha, Tre, Lili, Danny, Mia and Sariah and numerous cousins and loved ones.

The family wishes to thank all the medical staff at PVH for their medical knowledge, compassion, prayers and support for Geno and our entire family during this loss and transition.

A viewing and Funeral Service will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado. Viewing on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, 9am - 4pm and Memorial Service with Military Honors will be at 1pm on Wednesday, October 25th. After memorial service a reception will be held at El Burrito Restaurant, 404 Linden Street, Fort Collins.
