Fort Collins – Ethel Pauline Watson, 99, died May 12, 2021, under Hospice Care in Fort Collins, Colorado.

She was born January 29, 1922, to Paul G. and Justina Harder Martens in Burrton, Kansas. A devoted homemaker the majority of her life, she also spent time working at Beech Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, as an efficiency expert. It was at a water fountain at Beech where she met her future husband and love of her life, Deane Watson.

She and Deane were married October 26, 1943, at First Methodist Church of Wichita, Kansas. They spent the majority of their lives in Wichita before retiring to Angel Fire, New Mexico. After living in Springfield, Missouri, for a while after Deane's death, she moved with her daughter, Debbie, to Fort Collins, Colorado.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Justina Martens; brothers, Edwin and Harold Martens; sisters, Agnes LaGree and Lovella Adrian; and her loving husband of 57 years, Deane Watson, who passed away November 3, 2000.

She is survived by her son Gary Watson and wife Jain; her daughter Debbie Scott; her grandson Cooper Scott, his wife Elizabeth, and great-granddaughter Kate; her granddaughter Carly McElvaine and husband Mark; and twelve nephews and nieces and their extended families.

She will be remembered for her baked zweibacks, vibrant personality, quick wit, the ability to play a great round of golf, and most importantly, her love of family. She will be greatly missed.

Donations can be made to the United Church of Angel Fire, New Mexico.

A celebration of Pauline and Deane's lives will be determined at a later date.
