Esther Lucille Snider, 97, entered her eternal home on October 31, 2023. Esther was born August 5, 1926, in Chillicothe, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Ruth Brainard.
After living in Chillicothe, Missouri, Esther moved to Denver, CO where she met Keith Snider, at the South Denver Drug Store (he was a register pharmacist there). She married the love of her life, Keith, on June 20, 1948. They celebrated 70 wonderful years together. They had three daughters and a son.
Keith and Esther loved to dance and travel together. They would dance to big band music and were "owners" of the dance floor. They would dance at home, so the girls enjoyed watching, listening, and sometimes dancing with them.
Esther enjoyed camping, fishing, and jeeping. Many times, in the Red Desert of Wyoming. While at the Red Desert, looking for arrow heads and the Wildhorses was always a must.
She enjoyed helping at church with the youth groups and college groups. She hosted sip-and-sings in her home whenever possible. She was also involved in small groups at church where she studied the Bible and made lifelong friendships. She loved the Lord and accepted Him as her personal Savior.
She loved her family. They were precious and very important to her!! She spent time with her family and had get-togethers whenever possible! She was a wonderful cook. Her family and friends enjoyed her meals and goodies. Her daughters learned how to be good cooks through her.
She loved dogs and always had several; Babe, Tippy, Mitzy and Phoebe to name a few. In her later years, she loved and enjoyed her grand dogs.
Esther will be missed!! We are thankful she is in Heaven with our Lord and family!!
Esther is preceded in death by her husband Keith, her son William Nelson, and her grandson Jeffery Hager. She is survived by three daughters: Cynthia Hager of Greeley, CO; Lynn Vaughn of Phoenix, AZ; and Jan Barthel (Alan) of Briggsdale, CO; six grandchildren; Jared Hager (AnnMarie), Kelly Hager, Christopher Vaughn (Dana), Colby Vaughn, Brittany Barthel and Austin Barthel (Tessa); granddaughter-in-law Mindy Hager; three great grandchildren: Addison Hager, Kayden and Nolan Vaughn; and several nieces and nephews.
