Esther R. Schilling, 90, of Fort Collins, died Jan. 16, 2008, in Eckert. Mrs. Schilling was born June 24, 1917, in Fort Collins to Daniel Schaefer and Amelia Mehling Schaefer. Esther married William "Bill" Schilling on Sept. 22, 1934, in Fort Collins. Mrs. Schilling lived most of her life in Fort Collins and recently moved to Eckert to be close to her daughter. She was the laundry manager for Poudre Valley Hospital for 24 years. Survivors include her son, Robert D. Schilling of Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter, Frances Tuttle of Eckert; a brother, Richard J. Schaefer of Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Shirley Larson-Dodge of Richfield, Wash., and Beverley Walter of Littleton; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Preceding Esther in death are her parents; husband; two grandchildren; two sisters, Elladean and Florence; and a brother, Raymond. A private graveside service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery with a memorial service at a later date. Those who desire may view Mrs. Schilling from noon to 4 p.m. today at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
