Esther Marie Montoya, 55, of Fort Collins, died Oct. 17, 2007, at her residence. Mrs. Montoya was born April 14, 1952, in Greeley to Manuel Martinez and Bernabel Palacios Martinez. Esther married Bernie J. Montoya on Aug. 18, 1990, in Fort Collins. Mrs. Montoya was a homemaker who lived most of her life in Fort Collins. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Esther enjoyed crafts and was a Raiders fan. Survivors include her husband, Bernie J. Montoya, of Fort Collins; two daughters, Mellisa Vigil of Fort Collins and Tina Vigil of Cheyenne, Wyo.; her father, Manuel Martinez, from Mexico; two brothers, Manuel Martinez of Fort Collins and Chris Salazar of Greeley; a sister, Carmen Martinez of Fort Collins; four grandchildren, Renee Simons, Angelo, Ray Ann and Marissa Esquibel; a great-grandchild, La Naya McDonald; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Esther in death is her mother and a brother, Louie Martinez. A Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday and a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Both services will be at Holy Family Catholic Church. The Rev. Damian de la Cruz, C.R. will officiate at the services.
