Estella Garcia Solano, a lifelong resident of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 31, 2010 with her family at her side. Estella was born in Fort Collins, on December 30, 1923 to Jose and Ruben Martinez Garcia. Estella married Aurelio "Bello" Solano, also a Fort Collins native, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Estella worked as a young girl for Colorado State University and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She thoroughly enjoyed caring for her family, especially her 2 grandsons. They were truly the bright light in her life and they both loved her very much. Her family and their friends looked forward to her excellent home-style Mexican cooking, especially her enchiladas, chicken mole, and taquitos.
She was a devoted lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Estella was preceded in death by her husband, Aurelio; her parents; and eight siblings: Esther Padilla, Emilio Garcia, Annie Vigil, Mary Gonzales, Madeline Roybal, Lloyd Garcia, Delores Lopez, Gilbert Garcia and Harry Garcia. She is survived by her son, Steven Solano and wife, Sarah; two grandsons, Matt and Joey Samantha and great granddaughter, Paige. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the Life Care Center of Greeley for their excellent loving care of Mom. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov 3, 2010 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W Olive Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Nov 4, 2010, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 326 N. Whitcomb with burial to follow at Grandview Cemetery.
