Erik James Bluhm, 34, died at his home in Fort Collins on July 2, 2006. Erik was born Jan. 26, 1972, in Lewiston, Idaho, to James E. and Elaine M. Bluhm. He previously lived in Houston, Texas, and Walla Walla, Wash. He received his associate's degree in graphic arts at Arapahoe Community College in Denver, his bachelor's degree in business and marketing at Washington State University in Pullman, and a bachelor's of science in zoology from Colorado State University. Erik was a graduate student at the Dr. Douglas Ishii Research Lab at CSU working toward a master's degree in biomedical research, studying Alzheimer's disease and diabetes. He was formerly a property manager for a savings and loan in Houston, Texas. He enjoyed hiking, biking, fishing, camping and tennis. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Patrick's Church in Walla Walla, Wash. Private family interment service.
