Enrique (Henry) Barraza, Sr. 1942-2025

Enrique Barraza Sr. aged 82, was called home to be with the Lord on Janury 31, 2025, he passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 16, 1942, in Crystal City, Texas, to Petra Luna and Ebaristo Barraza. Henry's life was a testament to love, family and perseverance.

He moved to northern Colorado in the 1960's and married the love of his life, Sylvia Torres, on August 22, 1964, and they made Fort Collins their home. Together they raised five children.

Employed at Colorado State University for over thirty years, he was diligent and committed to his profession. He instilled great values in his children and encouraged the importance of an education.

He was a devoted husband to Sylvia for sixty years, a dedicated father of five children , Henry Jr, Ed, Jerry, Gilbert and Brenda and a proud grandfather of fifteen, and great-grandfather of sixteen. He believed in the power of family and dedicated his life to creating a loving and supportive home.

Known for his warm generous spirit that touched everyone he met, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion. Henry's stories, advice, and warm hugs will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, two brothers, and a grandson.

Viewing will be held 12pm-6pm, Monday, February 10, 2025, with the Rosary to begin at 6 pm at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Collins on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., followed by the burial at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery.
