Elva N. White, 88, of Fort Collins, died June 14, 2005, at Poudre Valley Hospital. Mrs. White was born February 2, 1917, in Lewes, Del., to Norman Neff and Maud Hastings Neff. She graduated in 1935 from Lewes High School. Elva married J. Vincent White on Jan. 10, 1938, in Maryland. They then moved to Fort Collins in 1964 from Lewes. She was a bookkeeper at Sterling Sand and Gravel and Mountains Plains Construction. Elva enjoyed horseback riding, entertaining and her grandchildren's activities. Mrs. White is survived by her two sons, John "Jack" V. White Jr., D.V.M. and wife, Beth, and Jerry V. White, D.V.M. and wife, Gerry; four grandchildren, Heather, Laura, Jessica and Garrett; and six great-grandchildren, Evan, Samantha, Vince, Mariah, Kimberley and Conner. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Fort Collins Good Samaritan Retirement Village Chapel. A reception following the service will be in the Fireside Room at Good Samaritan. Pastor Leroy Grimm will officiate at the service.
