Eloise Sorenson Weiland passed away peacefully at home on October 29, 2018. A celebration of her life will be held on December 8, 2018, at 10:00 am, at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Fort Collins, CO 80524. Cremation has taken place, and private interment will occur on a later date.

Eloise Geraldine Sorenson was born in Kenosha County Wisconsin to parents Sam S. Sorenson and Albertine (Tina) Sorenson on December 12, 1927. She married Ralph Jacob Weiland on Oct. 20, 1945, and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary before Ralph's passing in early 2006. They moved to Colorado in 1956 and spent most of their life together in Ft. Collins and the surrounding area, with a 17-year period in Roswell, NM, before returning in 1999. In Wisconsin, Eloise and Ralph owned a dairy farm, where they started their family. They were also foster parents to several young people during that time. After their move to Colorado, Eloise became a secretary/administrative assistant in the Occupational Therapy Department at CSU in Fort Collins where she worked for almost 21 years. She was an exceptional seamstress, avid quilter, a poet, writer, and a wonderful artist in many media. When she and Ralph returned from NM, she became a member of LaPorte Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir. She also served her church as choir director, pianist, and organist. She shared her love of music with her children and grandchildren until shortly before her passing.

Eloise was the proud mother of 8 children, 12 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Judy Sattersten; (Carl), and her 8 children: Sue Heineman (Don); Barbara Weiland; Nancy Fisher (Gene); Peggy Bartlett (Bob); Jean Glennon Whitehouse (Anthony); Alison Warkentin (Pat); Ted Weiland (Linda); and Bob Weiland. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren: Kim Womack (Bart); Sherrie Engelken (Dave); Kristie Heineman; Carl Bartlett (Michele); Tom Glennon (Cindy); Katie, Derek and Jared Weiland and Amy Ramer (Timothy); and Tyler (Kat) and Kari Weiland, and 14 great grandchildren: Shawn and Brittany Engelken; Brianna Duncan (Bentley) and Madison Womack; Kiera, Addison, Nathanael, and Jadon Bartlett; Tommy and Abigail Glennon; Ella, Heath, and Brett Ramer; and Henry Weiland.

Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Weiland, her parents, her brothers Russel and Jerry Sorenson, and her grandson Brent Bartlett. She is sadly missed but never forgotten.
