Eloise Eleanor Godshalk was born in Kosciusko county Indiana on February 28, 1936. Shortly after being diagnosed with cancer, she went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on December 7, 2018.
Eloise is described by many as a kind, gentle, faithful, and positive person. She grew up on a farm in Indiana spending time with her sister and many cousins. In 1972 Eloise and her sister Marilyn moved to Arizona to help one of their uncles. In 1984, they moved for a final time to Fort Collins, Colorado. Marilyn died unexpectedly in 1986, leaving Eloise alone and far from family. She read Psalms 68:6 where God sets the solitary in families and prayed for God to do the same for her. Later that year, Eloise was hired as the church secretary at Front Range Baptist Church where she became part of a large and loving family. She served there for seventeen years. In 1988, her cousin's son, Erin, moved to Fort Collins and she became an honorary grandmother to Erin and Melinda's children. God honored Eloise by answering her prayer for family in unexpected ways.
Eloise was preceded in death by her parents Fred Godshalk and Arrilla (Beatty) Godshalk, and by her sister Marilyn Godshalk. She is survived by many cousins and locally by Erin, Melinda, Catherine, Paige and Mark Handgen.
Memorial services will be held on December 19 at 10:30 am at Front Range Baptist Church, 625 E. Harmony Road Fort Collins, CO 80525. Donations may be made in Eloise's memory directly to Maranatha Baptist University at
