Ellen Alice Charlie, 91, of Fort Collins died Thursday, June 28, 2007, in Larimer County Hospice Care Center. Ellen was born Nov. 28, 1915, in Toronto, Canada, and married Jack Charlie on July 12, 1943. She and her husband, Jack, moved to Ferndale, Mich., in 1951 and became citizens of the United States a few years later. She moved to Fort Collins 10 years ago. Mrs. Charlie was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Fort Collins Senior Center and SOAP Slightly Older Adult Players. She was active in many activities, including the Senior Olympics in which she won many gold medals. Ellen is predeceased by a son, Brian; a sister, Doris; her parents, and her husband, Jack. Surviving are two sons, Wayne Deanna Durnford and Glenn Charlie; and one grandson, Michael Charlie. Memorial service is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1208 W. Elizabeth St., Fort Collins, with the Rev. Robert Lundquist officiating. The Rev. Bill Bacon and the Rev. Jean-Jacques D'Aoust will assist with the service. Ellen had many friends at St. Paul's, The Worthington, New Mercer Commons, in the Fort Collins community and elsewhere, especially Michigan, Wisconsin and Canada.
