Ellaine Whitcomb, 82, of Cheyenne, Wyo., died Sept. 25, 2008, at Cheyenne Hospice. Mrs. Whitcomb was born on July 13, 1926 in National City, Calif., to Curtis L. Oliver and Evelyn Berry Oliver. She married F.L. "Lee" Whitcomb on Oct. 12, 1947, in Berrien Springs, MI. Ellaine lived in Fort Collins, Loveland, Morrill, Neb., and Cheyenne. She was a homemaker and an art teacher at Campion Academy in Loveland for 11 years. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Mrs. Whitcomb was preceded in death by her son, James "Jim" Leighton Whitcomb and her brother, Curtis Larry Oliver. Survivors include her husband, Lee Whitcomb of Cheyenne; a daughter, Joni Lee Bunzel of Melbeta, Neb.; one half-brother; four half-sisters; two grandchildren, Nicole Hoskinsen and Sunshine Bunzel-Park; and two great-grandchildren, Janie and Trevin Hoskinsen. She is also survived by her step-mother, Eva Mae Oliver. A Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Those who desire may view Mrs. Whitcomb from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
