Elizabeth C. Volz, 91, of Centennial, formerly of Fort Collins, died March 7, 2006, in Denver. A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grandview Cemetery. Mr. W. Donald Fike will officiate. Elizabeth Bollin was born Oct. 2, 1914, in Cheyenne, Wyo., the daughter of Clarence J. Bollin and Sarah A. Parkhurst Bollin. She married J. Leonard Volz on May 28, 1939, in Livermore. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1988. Elizabeth moved to Fort Collins in 1975, and spent the last 12 years in Denver. She traveled around to different states with her husband in forestry. She was an elementary school teacher and taught near Wellington in the little school house that now sits at the Fort Collins Museum. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Janice Volz Schefcik of Centennial, and Yvonne Derrer of Richland, Wash.; one grandson, Travis Volz of Udall, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and one son, Jay Volz, who passed away two weeks ago. Memorial contributions can be made to the College of Forestry in care of the Natural Resources Department at Colorado State University or the National Park Service Education Trust Fund in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Fort Collins, CO 80524.
