Elizabeth Mac Lauchlin, 87, a wonderful, loving wife of 62 years to husband, Bob, Liz departed this world unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Liz was born in Denver on April 29, 1938, the daughter of Marion and Gardner Willson. She was a graduate of East High School in Denver, Colorado State University, and Arizona State University.
Liz and husband, Bob met when Liz served as the youngest Assistant Dean of Women for a major Land Grant University with the United States (University of Maine) and husband, Bob, was the first "Director of Programming and Operations Director for the State of Maine Educational Television Network."
This lady's passion was extraordinary needlepoint work. She once made a one-of-a-kind piece for the former President of the United States, Gerald R. Ford, when he came to Colorado State University as part of Bob's annual, international "CSU Broadcast Day" event. Bob served CSU for 28 1/2 years, being "Professor of Speech Communication and Director of Undergraduate and Graduate Programs in Telecommunications."
Liz was very active within her CSU sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma, having once served as the "Province Director of Chapters."
Liz is remembered for the person that she was, a loving, caring individual who gave everything to her husband, her church, and community.
She is survived by her husband Bob; niece Gaylynn Hollar of Aurora; nephew Gary Willson of Washington; and sister-in-law Kay Willson of Denver.
Services will not be held at this time due to current health issues within the Mac Lauchlin family.
Our loss is great!
