Elisa Baldez

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went home to be with the Lord on April 30, 2006. Elisa was born in Zaragosa Coahuila, Mexico, on Dec. 11, 1911. She married Manuel Baldez in June 1932 in Sonora, Texas. She is survived by her daughter, Piedad B. Rodriguez, and her son-in-law, Cleto Rodriguez. She was fortunate enough to live to see five generations of family. She had seven grandchildren, Manuel Rodriguez, Martha E. Marquez, Elias Rodriguez, Alva D. Arredond, Edna May Chavez, John James Rodriguez, all of Fort Collins, and Idalia Aguilar, of El Paso, Texas. She had 23 great-grandchildren; 34 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Genoveva Castilleja; and one brother, Guadalupe Sanchez, from Sonora, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters. Elisa enjoyed quilting, sewing and various crafts, but her favorite pastime was being around her family. She enjoyed sharing stories of her childhood. She will be greatly missed by all her family. May she be quilting a great big blanket for all of us to enjoy. A rosary is at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
