Eleanore, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away March 12 after a long illness. She was born in Chicago in 1920 and lived most of her life there before moving to Colorado with her mother in 1987 to be with her only daughter, Sandy, and her only grandchild, Nick. Eleanore lived with Sandy and Nick for 12 years, and was so happy to be an important part of Nick's growing up. She was an avid reader and loved road trips to the mountains. She'll be remembered for her kindness, her wit, and the sharp mind that stayed that way to the very end. When Eleanore moved to Colorado, she left behind her sister, Fran Crone, and niece/ nephew, Pat and Pete Merritt. She therefore "adopted" Nick's dad's side of the family, as their aunts and grandparents live out of state. Many happy occasions and holidays were celebrated with the Ierisi, Shoaff, and Stallnaker families who adopted her as their own, as well. Eleanore will be greatly missed by her family every day. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of Larimer County or the Larimer County Humane Society.
