Eleanor Rose Bechtholdt was born on September 10, 1928 in Windsor, CO and passed away Sunday August 7th, 2022. Her parents were Mollie Lichtenwaldt and Henry Bechtholdt.
Eleanor grew up and went to school in Windsor, Colorado. She married George Sperber on October 10, 1946 in Nebraska. They then moved to Fort Colins and resided there for the remainder of their lives. Eleanor worked at Walgreens and Woolworth's Lunch Counter, The Riverside Cheese Factory and finished her career with 25 years at the CSU Ramskellar.
Eleanor is survived by a sister-in-law Betty Bechtholdt in Albuquerque, NM. Deceased brothers and sisters are: Alice (William) Steely, Carl Bechtholdt, Lydia (Albert) Lear, Reuben (Evelyn) Bechtholdt, Mable (Roy) Wickstrom, Doris (Reuben) Schmidt, Henry (Eileen) Bechtholdt, Larry (Betty) Bechtholdt and many nieces and nephews.
Eleanor enjoyed gardening, cooking and playing bingo. Eleanor also enjoyed volunteering for Volunteers of America and being a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. She liked going to Silver Singles from S.O.T.H.
Memorial service is Friday August 19th at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church at 11:00 am, 1200 South Taft Hill, Fort Collins, CO 80521. Viewing will be Thursday, August 18th at Noon – 6:00 pm at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 West Olive St., Fort Collins, CO 80524.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be given to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
