Listen to Obituary
In the wee hours of Friday morning, October 14, 2011, God came quietly and his angels lifted our beloved Eileen from her bed and took her without warning. The shock has been so difficult, it is not always easy to understand God's plan, especially since Eileen was still so young. Eileen was a woman of faith, and had God in her life, so the family finds comfort knowing she is in paradise with God and our Dad. Eileen will be remembered for her beautiful gentle eyes, her warm smile and her contagious laughter, her sense of humor, and her kind spirit. She was a good soul in the world and will be missed beyond words. Eileen touched so many lives and we are all better people for it. Eileen was born on May 11, 1955 in Fort Collins, she is a graduate of Fort Collins High, she retired in 2008 after 30 years working for CSU and continued to work part time for CSU Admissions, she was well known in the campus community. Eileen had a love for children; she worked for Westminster Presbyterian Church in Fort Collins for the past 20 years providing child care for the Sunday morning services. In her personal life her daughter and granddaughters were the light of her life. For the past 16 months Eileen was the caregiver for our mother. She has such a way with our disabled sister, Virginia, helping to do her hair and makeup, making sure Virginia knew she was loved and special. She also had a very special close and loving relationship with her sister, Linda, they were two peas in a pod. For her best friend, Annette, she valued and cherished that friendship. The family is grateful to Conrad for being such a blessing in the last months of her life. Eileen was so loved by her family, friends, and co-workers. Eileen is survived by her mother, Polly Mitotes; her daughter, Erika Avalos-Lopez Rocky; and granddaughters, Estrella and Selena. Her sisters: Virginia Mitotes, Linda Roy Pundt, Eleanor Tom Mondragon all of Fort Collins. Roxanne Trujillo of Denver, CO; brothers, Steve Mitotes, and David Betty Aragon Mitotes of Fort Collins. Eileen had numerous nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her father Joe Nick Mitotes. We love you Eileen and will miss you, rest in peace. A funeral service will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1709 W. Elizabeth. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Those who desire may view Eileen, Wednesday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
