Effie Gear

Effie Leona Gear, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away May 25, 2006. She was born on Sept. 2, 1918, in Waelder, Texas, and had been a resident of Fort Collins since 2000. In life and in death, she will be remembered for her love of sewing and gardening. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Davidson, of Fort Collins and Gail Jim McDonald, of Coushatta, La.; grandchildren, Ellen Leonard Drummer, of Coushatta, La., and John Janie Meyers, of Fort Collins; great-grandchildren, Andrea Meyers and Rachel Meyers, of Fort Collins, Ashley Simpson and Lucas Drummer, of Coushatta, La., and Zachary Piatt, of Seguin, Texas. A memorial will be held in Waelder, Texas, at a later date. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Larimer County.
