Edward Sitzman

Edward was born on May 12, 1911, in Fort Collins, and died Aug. 26, 2006, in Tempe, Ariz. He resided in Tempe with his daughter, Karen Horak. He married Pauline Robbins in Kimball, Neb., on July 3, 1932. Edward worked as a Safeway meat department manager for more than 50 years in Fort Collins, Loveland and Cheyenne, Wyo. After retiring from Safeway in 1981 he enjoyed driving cars for Halladay Motors in Cheyenne. He was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years; his parents, Jacob and Charolette Sitzman; four brothers, Adolph, John, Jake and Rhiney; three sisters, Baby Esther, Lydia, and Esther Charolette; and two great-grandchildren, Tami Sitzman and Sean Flanagan. Edward is survived by a son, Duane Sitzman of Fort Collins; two daughters, Shirley Flanagan and her husband Russ of Whitewater, and Karen Horak and her husband Don of Tempe, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, followed by a graveside service at 1 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins. Pastor Paul McGraw will officiate at the graveside.
