Edward L. Mikels

Edward L. Mikels, 72, of Fort Collins, died December 5, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Mikels was born October 5, 1940 in Shelby County, Iowa to Edward Mikels and Ileine Mikels-Hansen. He was raised by his mother Ileine and stepfather, Glenn Hansen. He married Linda Palmer on August 5, 1961 in Harlen, Iowa. They lived in Rancho Cucamunga, California and lived the last 13 years in Ft. Collins. He was an avid Bronco fan. Survivors include his wife Linda of Ft. Collins; a son, Scott Mikels and his wife, Kelly Morrison of Ft. Collins; three daughters, Debbie Taylor and her husband Scott of Upland, California, Becki States of Ft. Collins, and Brenda Feller and her husband, Jay Graham of Ft. Collins; two brothers Larry Mikels of Harlen, Iowa and Dwain Mikels of Florida; a sister, Sandy Thomas and her husband, Richard of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, Christen Taylor, Chris Saunders, Bryan Taylor, Amanda Feller, Macie Feller, Joshua States, Kyle States, Katelynn States, Gaven Mikels, Jayden Graham, and Christopher Hinch, and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Preceding Ed in death are his parents and a brother, Mike Mikels. An open house will be held at Ed and Linda's home, 436 Del Clair on Tuesday from 4-9 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Edward L.
